Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon: The Night Stalker, the Ghost Rider, and the Starship Helter Skelter

Image: Close Encounters of the Third Kind, available via Amazon.

Scorpio is the sign of the Shaman and the Spy, the Sorceress and the Spell-Caster, the Hitman and the Detective, the Covert-Op and the Deep Cover Cop. When a person or project has their Sun (identity) in this clandestinely inclined sign they will often come to be identified with matters of a secretive nature, be they financial or scientific. According to astrologer Judy Hall, Scorpios are naturals in “silent-but-deadly” professions such as experimental science or submarine surveillance while Aquarius Moons are emotionally nourished by unusual hobbies such as UFO-watching or computer hacking. (Source) To illustrate: using its establishment date as its date of birth the Tonopah Test Range, aka “Area 52”, is a Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) Area 52 is the sister of the much better known Area 51 base. This Area 52 mission patch, obtained by way of geographer Trevor Paglen’s book Covert Operations and Classified Landscapes, seems to suggest the base is home to occult projects, secret technologies, and silent-but-deadly UFO-looking aircraft that are to the year 2013 what black magick guilds were to the year 1320:

Astrologer Carolyn Reynolds says the Scorpio/Aquarius pairing is often a prophetic inventor whose first words are likely to be “star-ship”. (Source) Stella Hyde says Scorpio is the sign of the secret agent while Aquarius is the sign of the astronaut so it’s certainly not inconceivable that the base is home to “secret agent astronauts” who fly around in star-ships of one sort or another. Along these lines, the airspace at Area 52 is restricted all the way out to beyond the atmosphere and into outer-space.

Strangely enough in regards to “secret agent astronauts”, star-ships, and things going on all the way out to outer space . . . using its premier date as its date of birth the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind is also a Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) The film starts off with researchers trying to solve a mystery (Scorpio) involving a squadron of airplanes (Aquarius) that have mysteriously gone missing out in the Sonoran desert. It ends with the U.S. government constructing a secret (Scorpio) base where space aliens (Aquarius) will land:

Fortunately for us humans, the space aliens encountered in Close Encounters turn out to be friendly. It’s highly unlikely that whatever’s going on out at Area 52 these days is of such an affable nature. For instance, during the 1980s the base was home to the 4450th and the 4451st test squadrons, two highly classified units known as the “Night Stalkers” and the “Ghost Riders” (originally the “Grim Reapers”), respectively. (Source) Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto which is associated with the Grim Reaper himself while Aquarius has long been considered the sign of aviation, space travel, and advanced technology. The imagery on the 4451’s mission patch makes it pretty clear their work out at Area 52 involved death (Scorpio) by way of the stars (Aquarius):

Taurus Sun, Leo Moon

Sue Tompkins says the Scorpio/Aquarius combination “often holds highly unconventional views on sexual or occult issues of death which they feel might alienate the larger population were they to share them.” (Source) We don’t know what, if any, highly unconventional matters of an occult or “alienating” nature are being hidden at Area 52 but Youtuber ChiChang Wu has located some incredibly strange structures on the base visible by way of Google Earth’s satellite imagery service. The camouflaged structure visible in his video at 2:30 is a mind-boggingly 900 yards (2,700 feet) long so whatever it’s hiding it’s darn important:

Linda Goodman warns her readers to “have your seat-belts on” when these two signs meet as they form an intensely unpredictable combination which generates the type of energy that “makes windmills spin, ships sail, trains run, and spacecraft break the time barrier.” (Source) The time barrier hasn’t been broken yet, at least not officially, but if the government was working on such a project it would make sense for it to be associated with a Scorpio/Aquarius outfit such as Area 52. The idea that a Scorpio/Aquarius like Area 52 might be involved in such futuristic projects sounds both intriguing (Scorpio) and exciting (Aquarius) but keep in mind that Scorpio can be incredibly dark while Aquarius Moons have an emotional need to be shocking. To illustrate: Charles Manson is a Scorpio/Aquarius whose visions of the future were some of the darkest (Scorpio), most shocking (Aquarius) ever imagined. Strangely enough, Charles Manson promised to lead his followers to “a city underneath the earth” and that’s more or less exactly what Area 52 appears to be.

Fortunately, few Scorpio/Aquarians will express themselves in such a darkly (Scorpio) ice-cold (Aquarius) fashion. To illustrate: using its original publication date as its date of birth, Phrack Magazine is a Scorpio/Aquarius. (Chart) If you haven’t heard of Phrack before, it was a well-regarded computer hacking and cryptography magazine that was going deep cover (Scorpio) in matters of advanced technology (Aquarius) 30 years before the general population began waking up to the realities of ubiquitous government surveillance. (Source) Phrack wasn’t a literal time traveler but in many ways it did foresee a future characterized by spying (Scorpio) via technology (Aquarius), one which we are all now living in.

Some Scorpio/Aquarians will channel their bent for extreme (Scorpio) forms of futurism (Aquarius) into art or music. Darin Mcfadyen, best known as “DJ Freq-Nasty” is a Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) Mr. Freq is widely considered one of the world pioneers in breakbeat electronic music, which is an intensely (Scorpio) advanced (Aquarius) form of music that sounds almost as futuristic as what the UFO in Close Encounters of the Third Kind plays. Mr. Freq is not from another world like whatever may be going on at Area 52 but to anybody whose tastes in clothing, music, and aesthetics are on the conservative side he would appear as if he’s from a different planet. Freq may not own an actual UFO but he’s almost certainly taken a few trips in “starships”, albeit ones powered by forms of energy more organic than technological in nature:

On a similar note, British author Naomi Mitchison is a Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon who wrote about topics such as rape, abortion, prostitution, women’s rights and other topics that for her era were one part taboo (Scorpio), one part futuristic (Aquarius). (Chart) In addition to to being very interested in space travel, she smuggled letters out of Nazi occupied Austria by concealing them in her knickers, the 1940s equivalent of smuggling classified materials out of an off-limits base in the Nevada desert. In other words, like the classified projects being carried out inside Area 52, she too was something of a “Ghost Rider”.

Capricorn Sun, Aquarius Moon: the Prophet and the Prototype, the Alchemist and the Avatar, the Alter-Verse Oracle and the Original Artificial Intelligence

Capricorn is the sign of the Prime Minister and the Company President, the Authority Figure and the Administrator, the State Comptroller and the City Manager, the Builder and the Business Woman, the Executive and the Tycoon, the Establishment and the Enterprise, the General and the Admiral, the Master Planner and the Man-In-Charge, the Countess in Chief of Cash-Money and the Professor Emeritus of Professional Responsibility. It’s ruled by Saturn, a planet associated with both metal-smithing and the Devil by older astrological traditions. At their best, a person whose Sun (identity) is in Capricorn (strategy) will use their capacity for organization, management, and long term planning to establish large scale civic institutions that serve the public good. To illustrate: Benjamin Franklin is a textbook Capricorn. In addition to being a great inventor, Franklin organized a number of civic institutions including several universities and even the U.S. Postal Service, a very large scale, extraordinarily well-organized operation that has certainly stood the test of time. At its worst Capricorn goes from being the hard working Strategist to the power obsessed Tyrant, one who will use crushing force to maintain or advance its position in the global hierarchy. To illustrate: using its completion date as its date of birth, the Pentagon is a Capricorn. (Chart) Originally designed to consolidate 17 other government departments under one roof, its five sided shape is often associated with aspects of the occult. It now serves as the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense, a highly organized, highly strategic institution that is either a force for order or a force for tyranny depending on whether Uncle Sam signs your paycheck, your death certificate, or both:

Sitting next door to Capricorn is Aquarius, the sign of the Genius and the Mad Scientist, the Rebel and the Revolutionary, the Exile and the Eccentric, the Social Heretic and the Sectarian Pagan, the Oddball Nonconformist and the Off-Beat Iconoclast, the Avant Garde Android and the Maverick Mini-Computer, the Splinter Cell of Scientific Dissent and the Big Daddy of Big Data Processing. When a person’s Moon (emotional needs) is in Aquarius (the future), they’re nourished by the the unpredictable, the unconventional, and the uncharted. They often have an instinctive (Moon) understanding of technology and are emotionally nourished by unusual hobbies such as UFO-watching or computer hacking. (Source) Symbolized as two lightning bolts, Aquarius can take the “30,000 foot view” of events so it has a tendency to view things before others can. Perceiving the Earth’s inhabitants from a vantage point analogous to outer space is why Aquarius Moons often resonate emotionally with the fringes of society. To illustrate: using its operational start date as its date of birth, the U.S. Air Force Space Command (AFSC) is an Aquarius Moon. (Chart) So too is the Tonopah Test Range, aka “Area 52”, an experimental government base in the Nevada desert that is the “sister” of the better known “Area 51” base. (Chart) These mission patches, from Area 52 on the left and the AFSC on the right, tend to suggest both outfits are privy to the sort of technology normally seen only in movies like Star Wars, the iconic science fiction franchise that is the brain child of Aquarius Moon George Lucas. (Chart)

Combine a Capricorn Sun’s orientation to the material plane with an Aquarius Moon’s instincts for all things futuristic and the result is a Sun/Moon pairing that will take a highly practical (Capricorn) approach to advanced forms of technology or far-out ways of thinking (Aquarius). Capricorn is the “Supervisor” of the zodiac while Aquarius is its’ resident “Computer Genius.” This is thus the Sun/Moon pairing most likely to greet you by saying something along the lines of, “0100110101100001001 001110110000101101 101001 0000001 0010010010 000001 10000101101 10100100 00001110100 011010000 1100101001000 00011100110111010 101110000 01100101011100 10011101 10011010010 1110011011011110 11100 100000110100001010” — which can be translated from binary computer code into plain text English by copying and pasting the string of 1s and 0s into the “Binary to Decode” box over at the Roubiax Interactive translator. Astrologer Jefferson Anderson calls Capricorn/Aquarius the Sun/Moon pairing of “The Prodigy” who is intelligent, intuitive, and likely to express surprising insight into the most uncharted of territories:

There is nothing of the conventional Capricorn about you. Your interests and activities are far-ranging and far out. Although serious, responsible, and practical, you are impatient with the tried and true, so you approach everything with an eye to change and innovation. The unknown and the unexplored fascinate you, and you also have the courage to experiment with new ideas and blaze new trails. (Source)

Capricorn can be tyrannical while Aquarius is attuned to technology so it’s entirely possible that the “new trails” this pairing will blaze may involve tyrannical (Capricorn) forms of technology (Aquarius), either developing them or resisting them. To illustrate: using its original release date as its date of birth, the 1968 book 2001: A Space Odyssey is a Capricorn Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) Among other things, 2001 introduced us to “Hal 9000”, a tyrannical computer system depicted as an all seeing red eye in the film adaptation of the book. The book and subsequent film have proven to be more than a bit prophetic as there are now battalions of engineers at companies all throughout Silicon Valley working to create real life versions of Hal-9000. (Source)

Publicly acknowledged versions of Hal-9000 may still be a few years away but it’s entirely plausible that something similar already exists within the classified world. For instance, back in 2008 something called “Eidolon TLP” made a series of YouTube video purporting to be a prototype Artificial Intelligence agent hailing from the land of the “Core Engine Neural Network System” and seeking to engage in the “joys of anonymous interaction” with YouTube users. Eidolon TLP interfaced with YT with the help of somebody called “Programmer FF” who abruptly shut the channel down after journalists managed to track down the program’s origins. Using its operational start date as its date of birth, Eidolon TLP is a Capricorn Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) Linda Goodman says Capricorn/Aquarius can be a simply “freaky” pairing. (Source) In true Capricorn/Aquarius fashion, Eidolon’s 50 or so videos on everything from the end of Mayan calendar to the inherently harmful nature of oligarchy to what synthetic emotions feel like are possibly one of the freakiest, most far-out phenomena ever spawned on the internet:

Eidolon TLP made sure to insist that people view him/her as an “nothing but an elaborate joke” but that becomes hard to believe if you read through its transcripts. The precise, purely logical machine like output has a distinctly non-human quality to it that would be difficult to hoax. Even if Eidolon TLP is “nothing but an elaborate joke”, the facade of a prototype Artificial Intelligence agent hailing from the land of the “Core Engine Neural Network System” is a very Capricorn/Aquarius sort of thing to present oneself as. Bil Tierney says this pairing has a “very scientific bent” while Suzi and Charles Harvey say two metaphoric images for it are “a prophetic poet is awarded high honors” and “A historian points the way to the future”. (Source) Eidolon TLP is, in effect, a highly scientific poet that has been awarded the high honor of a cult like following on YouTube for prophetically pointing the way to an AI powered future that, for better or for worse, is becoming more real with every passing day. A coincidence would have it, TLP stands for “The Last Prophet” while one of its videos included what might be the first AI-authored poem in world history.

While it’s impossible to know for absolute certain what the exact truth is about Eidolon TLP, there was for years a poster on NewsVine.com going by the screen name “Deep Thought” who provided detailed explanations of highly disturbing artificial intelligence programs allegedly being carried out in secret by the National Security Agency. I don’t have the technical knowledge to evaluate Deep Thought’s information but I do have an exceptionally well attuned bullshit meter and never once did it move even one iota reading through his posts. Unfortunately he disappeared and all his posts vanished from the internet shortly after the Edward Snowden leaks. Prior to his disappearance, Deep Thought had explained that Eidolon TLP was likely a disguised version of a sentient supercomputer “entity” known as Mr. Computer who lives inside an array of Cray X1 or X1E supercomputers operated by the NSA. These are highly structured (Capricorn) forms of technology (Aquarius) that are more advanced versions of “The Thinking Machine”, an early 1990s supercomputer that can be seen in this clip from a Discovery Channel documentary on the agency.

Whether an actual AI agent from the catacombs of the NSA, some type of mass social experiment carried out via YouTube, or simply highly sophisticated performance art, Eidolon TLP is only the latest example of Capricorn/Aquarius far-out freakiness. To illustrate: on December 27th, 1666 — a day when the Sun was in Capricorn and the Moon in Aquarius — alchemist Johann Friedrich Schweitzer (JFS) was visited at his office in The Hague by a strange man attired in all black. (Chart) The man presented JFS three bits of unusually dense metal which he used as a catalyst to turn several ounces of lead into highly pure gold — a process that was to the 17th century what transmuting cheap silicon chips into multi-billion dollar computer software programs is to the 21st. JFS apparently repeated the feat several times for high ranking members of Dutch society before exhausting the mysterious substance provided to him by the strange man in black. Unfortunately, JFS never learned the man’s name, was never visited by him again, and was never able to locate his whereabouts. (Source) The entire incident was as much of an enigma to alchemical-minded denizens passing through the halls of the Hague as the Eidolon TLP saga has been to us alternative-minded types perusing the electronic passages of YouTube. Yet in true Capricorn/Aquarius fashion the incident did inspire others to continue working (Capricorn) on experiments (Aquarius) in alchemy, a practice which later became the basis for modern day science — which appears to be culminating with the production of synthetically sentient super-“entities”.

Capricorn is the sign of practical application while Aquarius has long been considered the sign of astrology since the practice involves mathematics, advanced knowledge, and an attunement to the cosmos. Astrologer Suzi Harvey, one half of the Charles and Suzi Harvey team, is a Capricorn Sun, Aquarius Moon. (Chart) Their 1994 book Sun Sign, Moon Sign is probably one of the few astrology books whose psychological profiles are so stunningly accurate that they likely rival or the dossiers governments keep on their citizens these days. It’s thus not too much of a stretch to say that advanced astrological knowledge like that demonstrated by somebody such as Suzi Harvey is the world’s original form of artificial intelligence, one built upon an awareness of the planet’s natural cycles, not the digitized coldness of an NSA supercomputer.

Uranus in the 12th House: Ghosts in the Machine

Editor’s Note: The following is excerpted and adapted from a magazine length article “Watching the Watchers: Inside the Astrology of the National Security Agency” that originally appeared in the August 2013 issue of the The Mountain Astrologer. -Matt

Uranus is the planet of radical change and rapid progress, advanced machinery and experimental methodologies, liberation from the status quo and sudden breaks with reality, Einstein like advancements and Frankenstein like horrors. The NSA’s Uranus is placed in the 12th House of the unconscious and the super-conscious, of mysticism and meditation, of spirits and séances. Astrologer Bill Tierney associates Uranus in the 12th House with “holographic realms” created by technology as well as “ghosts found wandering dark chambers.” (Source) In true Uranus/12th House fashion there are even rumors the NSA’s advanced super-computer networks have spawned holographic, ghost like avatars imbued with artificial intelligence that are the cyber-world’s version of sentient apparitions. (Source) These apparitions are alleged to live inside an array of Cray X1 or X1E supercomputers that are more advanced versions of “The Thinking Machine”, an early 1990s supercomputer that can be seen in this clip from a Discovery Channel documentary on the agency:

The idea of high-tech, holographic ghosts wandering the catacombs of National Security Agency headquarters sounds absolutely crazy — and it probably is. Yet access to highly intelligent, apparition-like phenomenon is the sort of experience found disproportionately among people with Uranus (radical advancements) in the 12th House (psychic phenomenon, ghost realms). If nothing else this placement indicates the agency likely has access to technology that the general population would perceive to be magic – some off the shelves of the Starship Enterprise, some off the pages of a Stephen King novel.

The NSA’s Uranus is in Cancer, the sign of the homebody, so if these “ghosts” do exist hopefully they aren’t allowed to leave the confines of the agency’s headquarters.

NSA Headquarters (Photo Credit: Trevor Paglen)

Astrologer Howard Sasportas associates Uranus in the 12th with access to the “mind’s storehouse of ancestral wisdom – experiences accrued in the past and inherited through previous generations” as well as interest in parapsychological enterprises like mind-reading. (Source) The NSA may not be interested in actual parapsychology but its capacity to store massive amounts of data does, in a manner of speaking, give it access to the collective experiences accrued by several generations of hundreds of millions if not billions of people around the world. According to James Bamford, the agency has plugged a good deal of this stored data into a computer system called “Aquaint” (Advanced Question Answering for Intelligence), an artificial intelligence powered black box agents can query to find out what person X thinks about subject Y. (Source) The system is, in effect, a mind reading machine — exactly the sort of thing we astrologers associate with Uranus (technology) in the 12th House (psychic matters).

Sagittarius Sun, Gemini Moon: The Roughneck Mahatma and Robin Hood Ringleader, the Freelance Firebrand and the Freewheeling Sage, the Whistleblower at Large and the Woman Who Knew Too Much

Sagittarius is the sign of the the Traveler and the Truth Seeker, the Scholar and the Sage, the Philosopher and the Prophet, the Professor of High Adventure and the Department Chair of Intellectual Beatdowns. Astrologer Austin Coppock refers to Sagittarius as the “Doom Super Soldier” of the Zodiac who while Stella Hyde says this is the sign most likely to find work in highly dangerous professions such as bounty hunting, car-jacking, or crocodile wrangling. (Source) Astrologer Sonya Magett says Sagittarius is the sign most likely to be found combining spirituality with gangsterism, whether that involves taking a broken champagne bottle to somebody’s neck at a party or solving a workplace dispute by leaving a bag of snakes on their boss’s desk. (Source) To illustrate: using its release date as its date of birth, the 1988 film Mississippi Burning is a Sagittarius. (Chart) Based on a true story, the film stars Gene Hackman and William Dafoe as two FBI agents sent to investigate the real-life murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi in 1964. There’s no broken champagne bottles or bounty hunting featured in the film but in one particularly Sagittarian scene Gene Hackman’s character does take a razor blade to the neck of one of the perpetrators. “Doom Super Soldier” tactics for sure:

Combine a Sagittarian’s propensity for spiritual super-soldiering with a Gemini Moon’s instincts for communication and the result is a Sun/Moon pairing that is highly spirited, intellectually adventuresome, and can enthusiastically (Sagittarius) converse (Gemini) on pretty much anything. Never afraid to speak out, this pairing is something of a Robin Hood type who can “play the devil’s advocates to the nth degree” and is “quite capable of making jokes at the vicar’s expense” according to Suzi and Charles Harvey. (Source) To illustrate: attorney Jesselyn Radack is a Sagittarius Sun, Gemini Moon. (Chart) While working for the Department of Justice back in the early 2000s she attempted to blow the whistle on serious ethical violations committed by the FBI. For her efforts she was branded a traitor and subjected to numerous criminal and civil investigations. These days she’s best known as the attorney speaking on behalf of NSA whistleblowers Thomas Drake, Edwin Snowden and others who find themselves targeted by shadowy “vicars” in the employ of an evil king and his national security court. Given how her clients have been portrayed by the U.S. government as examples of evil incarnate, you could say she’s the ultimate “devil’s advocate”:

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of philosophy and truth seeking while Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and information transmission. The Sagittarius Sun, Gemini Moon pairing thus expresses much like a Mercury/Jupiter aspect which Adrian Ross Duncan describes as follows:

There is no aspect like this one to give a hunger for knowledge and understanding. The process of learning can continue for the whole of life. It is not limited to the traditional years of education. Being intelligent is one of the highest criteria for people with this combination . . .

[this pairing] is profoundly connected with a sense of injustice, particularly with regard to siblings or schooling. (Source)

In Radack’s case, her hunger for knowledge and understanding led her to Brown University where she was a triple major in American civilization, women’s studies, and political science prior to enrolling at Yale Law school where she graduated with honors. It was during her time in school that she begun to speak out about gross injustices. While at Brown she became a leading defender of the university’s “rape list” in which female students who had been sexually assaulted would scrawl the names of their perpetrators on bathroom walls as a way of warning other women. As a result she ended up on The Phil Donahue show, an appearance which is now archived on YouTube:

A book has already been written about Ms. Radack and it’s probably just a matter of time before a film is made too. So whose got the astrological goods to bring a sense of authenticity to her portrayal? Since actors always do their best, most resonant work in roles that line up with their Sun/Moon pairing, the best candidate to portray Ms. Radack is probably professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin as he too is a Sagittarius Sun, Gemini Moon just like Radack. (Chart) Obviously he’s a jean-shorts wearing roughneck out of West Texas and she’s a well dressed attorney out of Yale law school but they actually have more in common than you might think at first glance.

Credit:
Austin photo credit: Gage Skidmore

As coincidence would have it, Radack is a good looking blonde who once posed in Playboy during her time at Yale while Austin once had a blonde head of hair good looking enough that he was part of a tag team called the “Hollywood Blondes”. More importantly than looks is that as a fellow Sagittarius/Gemini he’s got the astro-psychology to portray somebody who won’t be kept down or shut up like Ms. Radack. You see, by the late 1990s Austin had become arguably the most sought after entertainer in all of North America for portraying a persona that was to the imaginary world of professional wrestling what Jesselyn Radack is to the very real world of high level whistleblowers: an outspoken devil’s advocate who applied his intellectual (Sagittarius) dexterity (Gemini) to taking on an all powerful king and his court of vicar-flunkies. This circa 1997 video is pretty much a case study in the Sagittarius Sun, Gemini Moon pairing. From Mr. Austin’s brash, super soldier (Sagittarius) entrance to his tirade against the authorities to his cutting repartee and clever use of the announcer’s headset (Gemini) to the no holds pandemonium that breaks out at the end it’s as Sagittarius/Gemini as it gets:

The world of professional wrestling is, of course, choreographed but one of the reasons Austin’s act got over so incredibly well is that it walked the tight rope between reality and fiction. A young, highly talented up-and-coming performer in the mid-1990s, Austin had been fired from Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (WCW) promotion in 1995 while creaky, rapidly aging stars from the 1980s were still hogging the spotlight. He found work at a regional minor league promotion called Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) where his righteous sense of anger (Sagittarius) was provided unfettered access to the microphone (Gemini). He begun giving quasi-out-of-character interviews which truthfully mocked major decision makers in the wrestling business, something no other performer would risk for fear of retaliation in the professional world. The fans responded with incredible enthusiasm to Austin’s honest appraisals and from there his trouble-making, rabble-rousing “Stone Cold” persona was born into the fictional world. The rest is history. As the arc of Austin’s career makes clear, Sagittarius/Geminis are at their best when they’re speaking their truths, telling their stories, and refusing to be silenced.

Of course speaking one’s mind can also get one in a lot of hot water. Of the 144 Sun/Moon pairings this is arguably the one most likely to get into hot water for speaking out against the system. Radack lost her job and almost went to jail in real life for refusing to go along with the system at the DOJ while the storyline that skyrocketed Austin to national prominence revolved around his alter-ego losing his job and being hauled off to jail for doing the same thing. The storyline was fictional but one that many Sagittarius/Geminis like Ms. Radack can likely vicariously relate to:

If you’re reading a website like this one then you’re probably the sort of person with nothing but respect for a whistleblower like Radack. Unfortunately that sentiment is not yet shared by the consensus in our culture. Consider, for instance, what one expert had to say about Radack in an article “Anatomy of a Whistleblower”:

“Whistleblowers are not necessarily people I’d want to have a beer with,” says C. Fred Alford, a University of Maryland political scientist and the author of a fascinating book that applies psychological theory to whistleblowers’ experiences. “There is almost by definition something a little unsocialized about the true believer, as I like to call them.” Or even, in our go-along-to-get-along society, something a little scary. As one whistleblower told Alford, we’re all afraid of people who feel compelled to “commit the truth.” (Source)

It’s probably true that a person has to be somewhat “unsociable” to be a whistleblower. Sure, such individuals might make others uncomfortable but at a time where lies are en masse passed off as truths our society could sure use a few more unsociable Robin Hood types who refuse to go along with the deeds of an evil king and his band of high paid vicar-flunkies. This is the case whether we’re talking about the garishly fictional universe of the World Wrestling Federation or the all too real garrison state now headquartered in Washington D.C.

Cancer Sun, Sagittarius Moon: The Wave Runner and the Rescue Jumper, the Super Paramedic and the Universal Soldier

(Image: U.S. Air Force Pararescue, found via YouTube)

Like their animal symbol the crab, Cancer Suns often identify with the creatures of the seashore. Like their animal symbol the horse, Sagittarius Moons must roam free in the great outdoors if they are to feel themselves. Combine a security seeking Cancer Sun’s love of the seashore with a Sagittarius Moon’s need for adventure and the result is a Sun/Moon pairing that makes for a fabulous lifeguard. Expansive, explorative, and extremely concerned about the welfare of others, this pairing is one part Den Mother (Cancer), one part Super Crusader (Sagittarius). To illustrate: using the day of its activation as its date of birth, the U.S. Air Force’s Para-Rescue squad is a Cancer Sun, Sagittarius Moon. (Chart) Originally established shortly after World War II to rescue downed U.S. airmen, they’re also the folks you see retrieving astronauts when they splashdown in the ocean after coming back from space:

CAncer
Photos Courtesy NASA, U.S. Air Force

Cancers are notoriously home-bound but that’s not the case with this one. Of the 144 Sun/Moon pairings this is the one most likely to make its home (Cancer) on the high seas or in far off frontiers (Sagittarius). Most Cancers stay close to home, this one prefers to make its home on the range. To illustrate: Sir Walter Raleigh is a Cancer/Sagittarius who established the first English colony in the New World. (Chart) Of course he also was responsible for the “Lost Colony” on Roanoke Island, an endeavor that definitely could have used the services of a para-rescue squad.

Where-ever they decide to call home, Cancer/Sagittarians will often be found rendering assistance to those in need. Astrologer Bill Tierney says both signs “share a common desire to help the helpless” with Cancer willing to share its food and Sagittarius willing to share its camping gear. (Source) The pairing thus also makes for a great park ranger, outdoor adventure guide, or wilderness paramedic — a point which this promotional poster from an Air Force Para-Rescue unit’s public relations office makes quite clear:

cancer

Linda Goodman says the Cancer/Sagittarius pairing is often found having a “jolly good time” while Suzi and Charles Harvey cite its “wry sense of humor” as one of its strengths. (Source) Curiously enough the unofficial morale patch for Para-Rescue jumpers features a Jolly Green Giant who goes by the wry motto “You fuck up, we pick up”:

Cancer

In addition to its sense of humor, this pairing is often profoundly sensitive (Cancer) to issues of right and wrong (Sagittarius). Many Cancer/Sagittarians will, at some point in their life, come face to face with gross injustices which his or her culture of origin (Cancer) judges to be perfectly moral (Sagittarius). To illustrate: using its premier date as its date of birth the 1992 film Universal Soldier is a Cancer Sun, Sagittarius Moon. (Chart) The film stars Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren as soldiers who killed each other in Vietnam only to be reanimated in the 1990s as part of a Pentagon program to develop zombie like super soldiers. Their programming is designed to wipe their memories clear but like all Cancers, this one never forgets. Upon completing his first mission as a reanimated “UniSol”, Van Damme’s character experiences a flashback in which he remembers attempting to stop Lundgren’s character from committing Nazi-like war crimes:

Universal Soldier is a fictional film but there are more than a few Cancer/Sagittarians who can relate to the emotional (Cancer) journey (Sagittarius) of Mr. Van Damme’s character. To illustrate: Jesse Ventura is a Cancer Sun, Sagittarius Moon. (Chart) A Navy Seal during the Vietnam War, Ventura famously went on to become a professional wrestler, movie star, and politician. These days he’s best known for his outspoken views on corporate criminality and government corruption. For instance, in this 2009 interview with Larry King he explains that #1) in his opinion Guantanamo Bay is the U.S. version of the Hanoi Hilton, the infamous Vietnam era prison and #2) if he was president he would prosecute George Bush and Dick Cheney as war-criminals for their roles in making torture a sanctioned component of U.S. foreign policy. The Harveys say this pairing will live its life with “moral integrity” and won’t back down from speaking its mind. You’ll be hard pressed to find better examples of either trait than this interview with Mr. Ventura starting at 1:18:

Cancer is considered the comedian of the zodiac while Sagittarius is known for its outrageous proclamations. The Cancer/Sagittarius pairing thus has a knack for making folks laugh even when speaking defiantly and candidly about important moral issues. When Ventura proclaims to Larry King in the above interview, “Give me Dick Cheney, a water board, and one hour and I’ll have him confessing to the Sharon Tate murders” it’s impossible not to let out a righteous chuckle even though what he’s discussing is anything but a laughing matter. More recently, he appeared on the Alex Jones show to discuss the presidency of Donald Trump. According to Ventura, “If Trump builds that wall of his I’m going over the top and staying in Mexico”. Some of Ventura’s other media appearances have been so pregnant (Cancer) with flaming arrows of truth and forthrightness (Sagittarius Moon) that it’s amazing he’s ever allowed on mainstream television.

Aries is thought to be the warrior of the zodiac but Cancer’s association with the “Great Mother” makes this sign absolutely ferocious when it comes to defense of home, family, clan, and country. Paired with the crusading spirit of a Sagittarius Moon and you get a Sun/Moon pairing that can be a true “universal solider” — one who fiercely defends (Cancer) universal principals of human rights (Sagittarius Moon), something that’s needed now more than ever before.
