Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon is a fabulous combination for musicians, artists, poets, dancers, dream interpreters and anybody else who works with the imaginative and the invisible, the mysterious and the opaque, the fantastic and the phantasmal. As explained in the Sun/Moon profile on this combination published earlier this year, Prince is an excellent example of a Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon individual who has made use of this combination’s gifts while minimizing its liabilities.
While this combination is great for artists, it’s one of the Sun/Moon pairings least suited to the financial services. Hand your checkbook to a Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon native and about the best you can hope for is that they’ll turn it into a collage of images they’ve channeled from other realms. Maybe they’ll write out a beautiful musical score, do calligraphy, or draw up some really cool symbols the way you might imagine Prince doing. At worst they’ll have your funds being channeled into multiple “dimensions”, none of which will be the type you can ever retrieve anything tangible from. Disgraced yoga guru John Friend, recently accused of serious financial “shenanigans” in regards to the management of his company’s pension fund, is a Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon. (Source)
If you’ve been paying any attention to the financial world, you’ve no doubt heard of the LIBOR scandal which is shaping up to be a financial scandal orders of magnitude larger than the collapse of 2008. Virtually every major bank is now under investigation for manipulating LIBOR, which affects everything from mortgage to credit card rates. According to the Wikipedia entry for the LIBOR scandal, it was “birthed” when the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) released a study suggesting the large banks might be fraudulently (criminally?) manipulating LIBOR. (Source) I ran the chart for the WSJ’s study using its release date as its date of birth and it’s a Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon. (Chart)
In his 1978 book Sun Signs Moon Signs, astrologer Jefferson Anderson refers to this pairing as “The Split Personality”, a title that speaks to the double dealing that is at the foundation of this scandal. On a similar astrologers Suzi and Charles Harvey tell us that one of the greatest challenges for the Gemini Sun, Pisces Moon native is “lack of boundaries.” (Source) Astrologer Linda Goodman describes a meeting between these two signs in a similar fashion:
It’s hard to get either sign to pay strict attention to what you’re saying, or to get them to look directly at you for more than a fraction of an instant. Gemini’s eyes are sharp, alert sometimes mocking. Pisces eyes are soft, wandering, liquid and full of comprehension when they focus on you, which isn’t often. Gemini eyes, too, focus only briefly, then dart restlessly here and there, birdlike. Like their eyes, the minds of Gemini and Pisces wander also, but for different reasons . . . to separate galaxies. (Source)
Being in “separate galaxies” at once is great for somebody like Prince whose creative gifts are so otherworldly amazing that they seem as though they’re from different galaxies. “Separate galaxies”, however, are definitely not what you want when it comes to things like interest rates, credit cards, bank accounts, pension funds, school district payrolls etc.
The Harveys tell us that a metaphoric image for the highest expression of this pairing is, “Peter pan marries Tinkerbell and they live happily ever after in Never Never Land.” (Source) Just substitute “off shore accounts in the cayman islands that will never, never be found” for “Never Never Land”, recast Peter Pan and Tinkerbell as mafioso banking fairies who wouldn’t hesitate to float Adolf Hitler a loan if the interest rate was right and it’s actually an accurate image for the LIBOR scandal, albeit in a rather twisted manner of speaking.
Again, this is a great pairing for those in the creative professions. The last think you want your accountant or financial professional to be, however, is “creative”, at least when it comes to how they handle money. (What they do on their off-hours is their business.)
A few other notes about the LIBOR chart beyond its Sun/Moon pairing:
Uranus/Moon conjunction: Events that Shock the Emotions
Uranus (shocks, surprises) is conjunct the Moon (emotions) in Pisces which at its lowest is associated with drugs, deception, and delusions. This aspect is often found in charts that involve some type of severe emotional shock, comparable to what you might feel if you came home one day only to find your house under three feet of water or your spouse unconscious from a drug overdose.
Mercury/Neptune: Subliminal Sensitivity or Smokescreen of Unreality?
Mercury (communications) in Gemini (The Communicator) is trine Neptune (idealization but also illusions) in Aquarius (technology). At its best this aspect is well attuned to subliminal communications. At worst, according to astrologer Adrian Ross Duncan, this aspect is that of “The Smokescreen” who deceives both others and themselves by creating “secret realities of untruth”. (Source)
Saturn/Pluto: Hard Won Excellence or Severe Oppression, Huge Losses
Pluto (extremes, terror, manipulation,) had just made its initial foray into Capricorn (business structures) and was trining Saturn (Lord of Karma) in Virgo (analysis, forensic research). At its best this aspect is associated with hard-won excellence, comparable to what a piece of coal undergoes as it transforms into a diamond, what a concert pianist subjects herself to as she perfects her performance, or the hours a forensic researcher must work to get to the bottom of criminality as complex as the LIBOR scandal. At worst, according to astrologer Sue Tompkins, it’s associated with the most severe forms persecution, oppression, and large scale loss:
What would it be like to be born during the time that the full horrors of Auschwitz became known, or the day Chernobyl blew up or the week that Wall Street crashed.
Saturn/Pluto aspects might be linked with lessons of survival. Sometimes the threat might be of a disease (polio, tuberculosis, AIDS) and sometimes with the fear of massive financial loss. (Source)
The U.S. Congress launched an investigation into the scandal on July 10th, 2012 when the Sun was in Cancer and the Moon in Aries. At its best this combination is associated with events such as the storming of the Bastille in France. At worst it just generates a lot of steam.
