the clandestine psychology of a Scorpio Sun with the analytical instincts of a Virgo Moon you get a Sun/Moon pairing endowed with a passionate temperament, a powerful intellect, and one hell of an intense presence. Highly skilled and deeply shrewd, street wise and razor sharp, this pairing has a mind as honed as a Samurai sword and precise as a Marine Corp sniper. Astrologer Bill Tierney says the Scorpio/Virgo’s intensely well calibrated powers of discernment make it “unbeatable at detective work, whether in trying to solve a crime, uncover a mystery of science, or probe deeply into a troubled psyche”. (Source) Investigative reporter Amber Lyon is a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) She’s best known for her work reporting on sex trafficking, human rights abuses, and police brutality. In 2010 while working for CNN she scuba dived under the massive crime scene that was the Deepwater Horizon oil spill while broadcasting on live television.
Actors do best in roles that line up with the characteristics of their Sun/Moon pairing. If Jodie Foster were a bit younger she’d be the ideal actress to portray Ms. Lyon as she too is a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) Foster’s starred in a wide variety of films but is best known for the 1991 film Silence of the Lambs in which she portrayed an FBI agent tasked with probing the psyche of cannibal Hannibal Lectar, an individual almost as sociopathic as the executives of companies like BP:
The textbook Scorpio/Virgo applies themselves to intense research or investigative work in a manner so systemic, strategic, and scarily thorough that it borders on fanatical. If you ever need to track somebody down this is the Sun/Moon pairing you want to hire. To illustrate: actor Robert Patrick is a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) Patrick’s crafted a consistent, workmanlike career over the course of three decades in Hollywood but his signature role will always be that of the “T-1000” model Terminator, a liquid metal hit-man on an infiltration and execution mission in the 1991 film Terminator 2. As the T-1000 Patrick takes all the strengths of the Scorpio/Virgo pairing and puts them to work in service of “Skynet”, a futuristic network that is the Goldman Sachs-Google biotech industrial complex carried out to its natural conclusions. Disguised as a police officer he embodies internally the sort of pure psychopathic evil that Jodie Foster encounters externally in her role as an FBI agent in Silence of the Lambs:
According to astrologer Jacqueline Bigar, Scorpio/Virgo “has deep penetrating eyes and a sense of direction that can puts others ill at ease.” (Source) Only a Scorpio/Virgo could wield an innocuous line such as “I just need to ask him a few questions” with the subtle yet undeniably sinister sense of direction that Patrick does in Terminator 2. According to an interview he gave in 2012, Patrick was cast as the T-1000 because director James Cameron was put so ill at ease by his audition tape. (Source)
Patrick’s Scorpio/Virgo detective vibe was later utilized on the small screen when he replaced David Duchovny on The X-Files as an FBI agent tasked with investigating the most mysterious, dark, and troublesome of unsolved federal cases:
Scorpio/Virgos can take “getting into their work” to some real extremes. For instance, in one particularly memorable episode of The X-Files Patrick’s G-man alter ego is eaten by a shamanic soul stealing space alien only to be regurgitated back into human form. Not all Scorpio/Virgos will go quite that far when probing a mystery but a good number will sure try.
Jefferson Anderson writes of Scorpio/Virgo near X-Ray vision, “Your sensitivity enables you to perceive things that others won’t or can’t. You form conclusions about life that are startlingly accurate.” (Source)To illustrate: using its premier date as its date of birth, John Carpenter’s 1987 cult film They Live is a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) The film stars Rowdy Rowdy Piper as a displaced construction worker who discovers a pair of black sunglasses that allow him to see how modern world as it truly operates. If you’ve never seen the film you owe it to yourself to watch this clip as words can not capture how “startlingly accurate” you might find it:
Strange Coincidence: Ted Gunderson, the lead FBI agent responsible for investigating the deaths (assassinations) of both John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, is also a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) His post-FBI career includes some episodes so unsettling they make even the most sinister of conspiracy theories regarding 9/11 seem like sunday school projects. According to Gunderson’s Wikipedia entry, “in 1995 he issued a warning about the proliferation of secret Satanic groups and the danger posed by a shadow government that’s controlling the United States.” The results of his investigation into an elite sponsored network of professional “jackals” are so upsetting it’s probably just best if you google them for yourself should you be so inclined.
Scorpio is the sign most associated with covert operations while Virgo is the sign of precision, thoroughness, and accuracy so it makes sense that a disproportionate number of special agents, detectives, and private investigators will be Scorpio/Virgos. Bill Tierney says this pairing “can’t rest until a disturbing issue is resolved”, a very good trait to have when one is involved in very dirty work or stopping others from doing very dirty work. On the downside being so orientated to the disturbing aspects of life means it also leans towards paranoia.
Of course, as the saying goes, “It’s not paranoia if they really are after you”.
As far as people who THEY really are after, environmental activist Tim DeChristopher is a Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. (Chart) Like a number of his Scorpio/Virgo brethren, DeChristopher is a something of a super-sleuth best known for going an a mission of infiltration and execution albeit a peaceful one. On December 18th 2008 he infiltrated a federal oil-and-gas lease auction and executed a $1.8 million bid for 22,5000 acres of of land. (Source) He had no intention (or ability) to pay for the land but knew that the bid would throw a major monkey wrench in the auctioning off of public lands. He ended up spending 2 years in prison for the crime of “obstructing lawful government proceedings”.
According to astrologers Suzi and Charles Harvey, one of the Scorpio/Virgo’s greatest weaknesses is the assumption that “if you can think them up, you are entitled to rewrite the rules”. (Source) That’s exactly what DeChristopher attempted to do in regards to oil-and-gas auctions but it’s hard to think of his actions as a sign of any weakness. After all, if “the rules” are designed to put profits over people and quarterly earnings over ecological health then perhaps they need to be rewritten. If so then a Sun/Moon pairing as committed to a deep (Scorpio) understanding (Virgo) of how people, planet, and politics truly work is probably just the person to do so.
